We're Still here... alive and kickin'

Hi All!

I can't believe it's been weeks since I posted. Moving is a pain in the ass...and the lower back. We've gotten it done and we're almost UNpacked which is huge.

Well my bloggity friends....we've settled in nicely. Our house is a little smaller but so much closer to Syd and the Mister's work. It's a five minute commute for each! The kitchen is a little smaller but with my mad organizational skilz most everything is where it needs to be.

The one thing I miss is our "junk" drawer. To solve this problem I found stackable drawers and put them above the washer/dryer on the shelves.
I had to find places for batteries, tea-lite candles, hot glue gun, etc. These were a saving grace and found at Big.Lots!

This past weekend we celebrated an 8th birthday for our sweet little Syd. She had 5 friends...yes FIVE friends spent the night, had a birthday party and then the next morning we had breakfast with the Easter bunny at the zoo. The Mister and I were exhausted but the girls had so much fun!

We had corn dogs, fruit salad, vegetables (yup, they ate them), baked french fries, red velvet cake (Syd's request from Costco) and ice cream. They all had fun running in the backyard, playing on the trampoline, having an Easter egg hunt and then dancing and acting like maniacs up in Syd's bedroom.

Her party favors were Spring tin pails from Target $1 isle, filled with "smelly" pens, little spiral note pads, flower shaped erasers, plastic jeweled rings and a magnifying glass. The magnifying glasses were left over from last years party when we did a movie under the stars. We watched "Honey I Shrunk the Kids"...remember the dad in that contraption hanging over the lawn with a magnifying glass? Anyway, I forgot to give them out last year.

Can I just say that magnifying glasses from the dollar store were a big hit! Probably wouldn't have been last year...so it all works out.

Nothing else new here. I'll be posting regularly. 'Er...I'll try to post regularly. Spring has sprung and we're enjoying the outdoors before the humidity rises and the mosquitoes the size of volkswagens start biting.

Peace.

Yay you're back! I like the background. Sounds like the party was a huge hit. Good luck with work, you're slammed right now aren't you?
